What may seem epic to one person, however, could could seem okay to another. Example:

Person 1: Dude, that movie was epic!
Person 2: That sucked...

It's mostly overused in the internet world. Some games such as Wow have "Epic" equipment, epic being used as an adjective if I know my grammar. It's a set of armor such as "Gold torso" and "Epic torso." Those aren't the exact names but you know what I mean.
