It was first inspired by an anime, where the ruler uses "we" to represent himself and HIS country.
I was really intrigued by it and wanted to try the style.
Second reason, English is my second language and I tend to always mess up on my tenses... may it be past, present, or future. Plural and singular is very different, and so, in a way, I'm practicing.

We think it's Twelve Kingdoms, or some anime where this girl became the emperor's adviser and she's fighting the "law" where women aren't allowed to become scholars. She even pretends to be a male, and only a few handful of people knows she's a woman.
