| Now, now, children. Play nice or no ice cream.
And sad to say, locking down the spam does not motivate some of us, it does the opposite. It just makes us not want to post until our comfortable surrounding is restored. Of course, I was not here to experience that, so I have no right to say anything... instead of locking it down, just encourage members to post elsewhere. Set examples by creating topics... move threads to their right places so that it forces others to post in the right place (but thinking of what some of our members are capable of, that could be a backfire instead). Then why not restrict us from posting/creating new topics and moderator our posts before it gets posted if you want to control us?

But having the people check in with a mod or an admin....It does wind up giving me more power over the forums, but it's too strict, and I don't need that power. I'm too busy fixing the admin panel.

| here is an idea
start handing out warning points to people posting legit topics in spam section instead of where they belong.
like if someone made a serious topic on games and put it here, warning points, and move topic to gaming section. |

I kinda noticed that in the Other section...
Order comes with a price... if you want things the way you want it, then you have to pay for it with efforts (and/or time). First it was not strict enough and then it's too strict, too bad that's really the only way to go about it... unless you want it half-assed. Also, there are many lines where it's very fine and most users find themselves questioning it. Like my topic to Raiden, sure it was to a single user, but it was also there to get inputs from others who feel the same way (or the topic could lead to a whole conversation of Street Fighters). If I wanted to PM someone, I'll just use instant messenger(s), why bother with a forum? - 卍 wrote:

XD I figured, seeing how we seem to go arm-in-arm when it comes to these topics. I know that no one wants to be strict or be restricting of the members here, but when you start something, better see through it. Just like parenting. You can't half-ass your punishment, and you have to see through what you have said. So, if the board does want order/organization that badly, then you'll have to take it to the extreme... but that means more work for mods/admins. Again, it's a pain in the ass, but it will accomplish what you want.
*Not you as in Heavy, but whomever desires order (from what I've read, it's other people including Azure). - Captain Mew wrote:

The spam version is basically a chatroom-type discussion. Anyways, my point is, Spam is basically what we do here. It's like how /b/ is basically 4chan's core. Wow... three pages vs. sixteen... wtf.
Adding to this: this board, from what I have gathered was a place for people to relax and chat about topics that include in their hobbies/every day lives. Problem with us is that we go off topic EVERY TIME... it doesn't matter if the topic started out as one thing, it will always end in another. I believe there was a topic about Paradox (aka, Captain Mew) and by the end of that topic, it was about me >>' Granted, I don't remember the details nor will I waste my time in trying to find the topic.
We are not serious people, as CM has stated... we can be, and you'll see the appearance of those in other topics... but after a long day of reality, silliness is what is left. It's the internet, by the end of the day, our minds are fried. Some of us, not all ;P I really don't want to worry about getting warning points because I created a topic in the wrong section. Again, going back to my @Raiden topic. It's not like what I thought of his sig/avatar was a secret :/
So, every time we want to compliment someone, we have to send a private message... how lame. - <3Asakura<3 wrote:

Yes... and look where that led him. Non-existent (almost). :/
I just realized that this topic should be in the Debate section  - raiden wrote:
- you dont need to be posting serious topics in the spam section. ever.
... and what are we having right now? A semi-serious topic IN the spam section.
Feel free to move this topic, but it's kinda categorized as half spam and half debate-serious.
