"An Alameda man is among four people indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of reaping $25 million reselling premium tickets to concerts and sporting events by hacking into online vendor systems such as Ticketmaster.com, prosecutors said Monday.
Joel Stevenson, 37, surrendered Monday to the FBI in Newark, N.J., where a 43-count indictment was issued Feb. 23 and unsealed Monday.
Stevenson, along with Kenneth Lowson, 40, Kristofer Kirsch, 37, and Faisal Nahdi, 36, all of Los Angeles, were charged with wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and unauthorized computer access.
The four men resold 1.5 million tickets for performances by Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, Kenny Chesney and Hannah Montana, the popular teen character played by Miley Cyrus, federal prosecutors said." Just HOW do people get away with it....... I mean, shouldn't they know before it gets so out of hand like this? That's not even the full list of people/events that were caught in scam. There is "also focused on tickets for live theater, including productions of "Wicked" and "The Producers," as well as sporting events such as the 2006 Rose Bowl, the 2007 Major League Baseball playoffs at Yankee Stadium and special events including tapings of the ABC program "Dancing With the Stars," prosecutors said." Really, seriously, just how did all these deed go unnoticed until now?! DD; | |
