Drinking Age

I know that the drinking age differs from states/country. Let's ignore that factor and let's go with California laws (though, I could have sworn it was different countries, not states that the drinking age differs). Drinking age is 21, let's just go with that!

Why is it that you're considered an adult at the age of eighteen, but cannot drink until you're twenty-one? And your car insurance isn't decent until you're at the age of twenty-five? Hell, to society, you're not worthy of heavier responsibility in companies/work environment until you're twenty-five as well. (If they don't know you personally, of course.)

Should the age be lower? Will it make the younger individuals happy, or do you think someone created this so that the young people can shoot towards something... like gaining passage little by little instead of passing just one door? It's like eighteen is just the beginning, and the years towards twenty-five is what is most important. The things you learn, the things you do, and the things you become.

Heard the human body doesn't really stop until around you're twenty-five.... this means I still have a few years to grow a few inches ;p

It's kind of funny. Ye can buy cigarettes, which hold no true purpose in the long run of things, at the age of 18, but ye can't drink until yer 21. We assume it may have to do with the body developing since it stops at a certain age, but that is kind of awkward. At least being of age let's ye go to bars, while smoking just kicks yer ass later and is easier to get addicted to >.>

...although apparently we were drunk one time in college. Apparently we walked up to the table and started spouting really weird stuff before falling asleep and waking up with a major headache. Funny, because we don't remember drinking any alcohol...or at least not any we knew of...
