Earthbound 1.5: The War's Over, Right?

Story: The year is 199X + 5
A few years ago, aliens began to invade Earth and took over the minds of many plants and animals.
The fiend responsible was the enigmatic red swirl, Giygas, who existed an undeterminable distance into the past.
A baseball-playing kid took baseballbat in hand and kicked Giygas'... um... ***?
Of course, he did not do it alone; he had had the aid of 3 friends, who were also "chosen ones."

5 years later, Earth is in decent condition, I suppose. (Setting is no longer Eagleland) Japanese-American* kid Vance is a tennis player who has heard of Ness's triumph on World News. He is walking through town one night when a tiny meteorite falls into his backpack. The next day, he visits the museum** in town and the metal detector beeps--they find his meteorite and observe it, then marvel at how it came from Planet G (the world scientitsts believe Giygas originated). Vance is sent on a trip, and meets

Status: Working on tremendous sprite importing... (I have Vance, Mr. Saturn, black telephone, and several monsters/animals, plus 8 normal guys)
But to tip you off, all sprites are double-sized (to fit VX correctly) Earthbound sprites or E.B. edits, save for tiles, which'll be compiled the best I can manage... D:
