| It obviously affects the child that's watching it, but at what age do we know it's acceptable for them to watch? How do we justified in teaching what they see on TV is not acceptable to the society we live in? Like that stupid kid who doesn't know better and was watching Naruto, he buried his little brother in sand and suffocated him.
It usually is the parent's fault, despite the many parents who tries to blame the show/game. Fact of the matter is, they control what their children sees, they control what their children learns, and they are responsible for teaching their youngsters on what is right and what is wrong -- keeping a close eye on them during their stupid age/stage instead of talking to other mothers.
Watching children may be boring, but it's because of careless mothers that gets the kids kidnapped. Never leave your eyes off of them, if they follow that rule, they won't have to report missing children in the park. ;x
Debate/discuss: - Parent or Show/Game fault. - If parent's fault, why and how they can balance/make it right.

| Ah, the chance to give my 2 cents on violent videogames and children.
Here's the thing. There is a rating system on videogames. On every box, there is a plain and in sight letter that says what age group best fits the game. On the back of the box, they tell you why the game was rated that way and what the game contains that may be offensive or too mature for some.
Now, with that in mind, when parents complain about violent videogames, shouldn't they be aware of this rating system? It was invented for the sole purpose of helping people avoid violent videogames. Some parents buy their children these games and then complain about their children playing them, contradicting themselves and being ignorant of the system.
Also, note that you must be 18 or over to buy children M rated videogames, and store clerks will tell you about M rated games before you buy them. Parents who ignore warnings given to them then return later that day to complain about the store selling them the game seem like people you think are just finding excuses to not be the person responsible. After all, the kid wouldn't get his hands on the game unless the parents bought it for them, so who is to blame for the kid playing it?
Mostly I think parents should rather be more cautious of what they buy their kid instead of buying it and then complaining about what they bought their kid like it's not their fault. Just like watching your children and monitoring what they watch on TV, you should monitor what videogames they play.

| Terry sees one in Adventure Game. Basically it's a large cabinet with a glass display so you can see the contents inside. Can have a key or a lock on it so only certain people can get the contents inside it.
...Now how about relevance to the debate? TV wise, they have programs on most cable TVs that allow you to block certain channels to prevent your kids from watching them.

| That's why they have the versions where you insert a key code to access the channel. If your kid finds out, switch the key code. Just don't tell you kid how to switch the key code. | |

| Parents cannot always control what their kids watch... they may see something while flipping through the channels, at their friend's house, or just chats that left the child curious for more. Fact of the matter is, parents cannot be fully blamed for anything. However, what they should have done is prepare their children, inform them properly while watching tightly during a small age.
It's like a tree. It's weak when it's growing, that's why they are tied to two or more sticks to support their growth (also for guidance); then, they get to that point where they don't need, so they are removed. Each child is like a plant, that requires the support and tender care of its caretaker. You can't water it too much, or it will drown and wither. Yet, if you don't water enough, it will also wither. Parenting requires a balanced judgment, some are good at it, some aren't.
If kids want something, they will find a way to get it. I know I was one of those. My mom monitored me, but there has been a few things that slipped her radar. Kids will always find a way, so what if the game is M rated. Back in my days, there are a lot of bad employee, and let's just say, we get away with it. Nowadays, regulations are cracking down its whip, so less of that has been happening. This goes for underage individuals getting their hands on cigarettes and alcohol, an older influence or sibling got it for them.
